Believe it or Not, This is Our Lifeless Life

10 things people don't know about doctors (especially houseman):

1. We are busy. Much busier than prime minister's PA :p

2. So busy that sometimes we have to 'tahan kencing'.

3. We usually did not eat lunch.

4. We have at least twice a week of 36 hours++ service which is called ONCALL (rarely with sleep).

5. Most of us might have vitamin D deficiency as we rarely see the sunshine (from home 6am, go back at 7pm).

6. Most houseman has experienced at least one car accident due to post-call/*tagging exhaustion or sleepiness.

7. Unlike other jobs, we don't have weekend off (at least medical in HSB don't have). Work until you drop!

8. We are so busy sometimes we cant even have time to attend everyone the way we should have done. I'm sorry to all my patient if I have ever made them feel ignored, please forgive me.

9. No excuse. Sleepy? Tired? Hungry? Are they more important to be fulfilled than your patients? No. So no excuse.

10. No room for mistakes. But human always make mistakes. That's why, we are not depending on ourselves, but we are doing our best and leave it to Allah. Keep close to Allah, He'll guide us to the right path.

~Some were exaggerated, most of them were the truth, but none are lies. These are written to show the real world of houseman and for us doctors to find the real passion in this profession. We can always be human, but superhuman is built from the heart. Let's be proud of this profession for the sake of human lives, insyaAllah there will be blessings for us when we do it with passion.

~Thanks to my family and those who have helped me through my days of fatigue and tears. Only Allah can repay the love you have given me.

*Tagging: the first 1-2 weeks of adaptation in a department/posting where we have to stay from 7 am to 11pm.

Samy Vellu Best Jokes

I got this from my sis (Iffah) who got it from my mum who get it from my dad who got it from his friend. I hope you enjoy it as I did:

Dato Seri Samy Vellu finally and officially resigned from his post
as the longest MIC President ever, after leading the party for almost 31 years. The Malaysian Insider has its story, here . Frankly, I will miss him very much especially for all the funny quotes he made all these years. Like what our Prime Minister said in the 2010 Barisan Nasional Conference, “We will miss DS Samy Vellu because he add a lot of color … sometimes a bit too much color”. Therefore, as a token of appreciation, I just wanna share so me of the more famous quotes ever made by the one and only, Samy Vellu.

1. Samy Velu quoted on Pos Laju:

"Besoh kirim, hari ini juga sampai"

2. On one TV news when he tried to say he felt very ashamed:

3. Samy said in one of his “ceramah”:

Then one pakcik asked, "Datuk, sini takde sungai, buat apa bina jambatan?" And Samy gloriously replied, "Kalao takde sungai, kita bina sungai"

4. Samy's most favourite quote on the news for the decade is this:

"Toll naik sikit, banyak marah saya. You worang ingat semua ini toll saya punyer bapah punya kah!”

5. During water crisis:

"Semua worang diminta jangan membuang aiyerr!"

6. On social society's problem:

"Worang2 muda sekarang banyak suka hisap dade"

7. During blood donation's program at Sungai Siput:

"Marilah kita semua menderma dare"

8. His welcome speech in most of his functions:

"Selamat datang saudara-mara semua" (It should have been “saudara-saudari”)

9. During the height of the Al-Arqam's saga, he said in a press
conference:
"Saya gumbira bahawa didapati tiada pemuda MIC terlibat dalam kes
Arqam"

10. At an opening ceremony for a new building:

"Mempersilakan Datin Paduka Rafidah Aziz naik dari pentas wuntuk membuka kain"

And of course the world's greatest joke of all times:

"Kita akan bina roket pigi matahari." One of the reporter responded,

"Tapi Datuk, matahari terlalu panas untuk didekati." Samy replied,
"Itu tade masalah. Kita hantar waktu malam"

There you are folks. For DS Samy Vellu, we wish you all the best!

10 Sebab Kenapa Koas Tak Sabar Nak Jadi BCL

Kenapa semua koas tidak sabar jadi BCL(Bukan Coass Lagi)?

1. Sebab koas tempatnya paling bawah dalam hierarki petugas kesihatan.

2. Sebab koas kerja dia TNPS (vital signs) trusss... Emang kami monitoring machine??

3. Sebab kalau ade something wrong, or somebody messed up, coass is there to take the blame.

4. Sebab kalau doktor penat atau badmood, die boleh marah koas, kalau nurse/midwife stress die boleh marah koas, kalau koas depressed nak marah sape? Makan hati jela.

5. Sebab kalau org lain tidur itu namanya rehat, kalau koas tidur tu namanya malas.

6. Sebab koas kalau pegang patient, itu dinamakan malpraktek. ???!

Kalau dah memang tak tau, nama pun koas, apela die tau...

10. Sebab ya, emang kami masuk kedokteran mau jadi koas? Mau jadi dokterlah! :p

Ditujukan buat semua koas ;) Semua doktor pun pernah jadi koas, jadi faham sangatlah life as a coass. Of course we learn a lot too, despite all the ridiculous things that we have to do. This does not apply to everyone, as every coass has different journey to go through. Enjoy ur moments.. The time will come when u look back and laughing at the unforgettable memories.

Mati Lampu lagi...

Black-out a.k.a mati lampu lagi!

10 SEBAB kenapa walikota Makassar MENGGALAKKAN proses mati lampu tiga kali sehari, 2-3 jam setiap sesi :

10 - Supaya orang main facebook gune handphone instead of computer. Semakin kayalah operator telekomunikasi Indonesia!!!

4 - Supaya lorong-lorong gelap bertambah gelap.

Cynical never gets better than this...

How to Make People Misunderstand You

I’ve been involved in a lot of misunderstanding, and lately it has become one of my specialties. Either I made other people misinterpret what I meant or I’m the one who got the wrong idea. It keeps on happening.

So these are the steps on HOW TO CAUSE A MISUNDERSTANDING:

1. Use gestures and signs instead of words and sentences.

2. Use one or more messenger(s) to form a message chain instead of informing straightly to the person himself.

3. Use short-forms, unfamiliar words or much better; a different language.

4. Practice whispering in public.

5. Instead of mentioning the exact time or the name of a place and/or a person, replace them with much more common phrase like “that place” or “usual time” or just “him/her”.

6. Assume people will always understand what you say.

7. Never use emotions. Ever.

8. Always use one-way communications. E.g. SMS instead of call, emails instead of chatting, notes instead of face-to-face interaction.

9. Always takes what people say, especially jokes, seriously.

10. Stick to assumptions. Don’t ask.

Conclusion:
Misunderstanding is an ACCIDENT that CAN BE PREVENTED.

It may not take lives like what accident between vehicles usually did, but it can break a heart and that is unnecessary for something that could be avoided.
